Section 10: Project management and autonomous agent workflows with Manus

Scenario 98: Regular price and website status monitoring

Level: Advanced · Tools: Automations, Schedule or Triggered task, Cloud Browser; My Browser Browser Operator for sensitive sessions [168] [173] [180]

Who and in what situation

Can is the operations manager for an online store. He monitors prices, stock availability and delivery messages on competitors’ product pages and notifies teams of changes.

How it is done today

Can opens the pages, compares them with previous snapshots and posts the changes to Slack. He separately checks the portal that requires login.

How to do it with AI

  1. Open Automations > Create. Select Schedule for a time-based check or Triggered task for an application event, and enter the time zone. [168]
  2. Define the URL, product ID, comparison field, threshold and exceptions; send the result to Notion. [168] [188] [182]
  3. Use Cloud Browser for public pages. Consider My Browser Browser Operator for the sensitive portal that requires login. [173] [180]
  4. Use Test run to check two results, one with changes and one without; monitor the Automations > Updates history. [168]
  5. Add an exception path that requires approval before writing to an external system.

Example prompt

Check the pages at {URL list} every {day and time zone}. If {product fields} change, report the previous value, new value, source URL, check time and a summary. If there are no changes, state this. Do not change prices, place orders or post to an external channel; first submit the result for my review within Manus.

Evidence and real-world example

The Automations documentation explains Schedule, event-based Triggered task, test runs, Updates history and conditional flows. The Cloud Browser documentation covers website navigation, data extraction and operations requiring login; it presents My Browser as an option for data center IP issues. [168] [173]

Points to consider

Some connector events are checked at intervals. Cloud Browser may encounter CAPTCHAs; Take Over is required for SMS or multi-factor verification. Browser Operator may transmit page and session context to servers; obtain permission for a company account. [168] [173] [180]
