Section 10: Project management and autonomous agent workflows with Manus

Scenario 95: Approved status message for stakeholders

Level: Intermediate · Tools: Gmail connector, Google Calendar connector, Slack connector, Gmail Draft and Slack preview [181] [185] [182]

Who and in what situation

Emre manages a regional transition project at a logistics company. After the weekly meeting, he prepares an email for the sponsor and a Slack message for the field team.

How it is done today

Emre opens the meeting in the calendar, reads the latest status file and rewrites the same information in two tones. Before sending, he switches between applications to check recipients and attachments.

How to do it with AI

  1. Connect Gmail, Google Calendar and Slack from the Connectors section; review and approve the permissions. [170] [181] [182]
  2. Reference the calendar meeting and the linked status report as sources. Calendar connector can work with the meeting context. [185]
  3. Generate the sponsor email and the team channel message separately, preserving the source line for each finding.
  4. Check the recipient, subject, body and attachments in the Gmail card, then select Save to Gmail drafts; for Slack, display the text first. [181] [182]
  5. Do not allow any sending or posting before comparing against the latest report.

Example prompt

Get the context for the {meeting name} meeting from Google Calendar. Use the verified progress, delays, risks and decisions in {status report}. Prepare a Gmail draft for {sponsor group} and a short team message for {Slack channel name}. Do not add assumptions. Show both texts first; do not save, send or post without my approval.

Evidence and real-world example

The Gmail and Google Calendar use case shows how to get context from calendar attendees, prepare an email draft and leave event changes subject to user approval. Slack connector also explains the workflow for showing the message first. [181] [185] [182] [186]

Points to consider

Drafting and sending are separate in Gmail; check the recipient, attachments and account selection. Since Slack messages can be sent on your behalf, specify the “show first” rule. Connectors are limited to the data you authorize; check customer and personal data against company policy. [181] [182] [180]
