Section 9: Integration scenarios with Claude + MCP
Scenario 87: Using corporate brand guidelines as a Claude Skill
Level: Intermediate · Tools: Claude Skills, Code execution and file creation, Professional Word, PowerPoint and Enhanced Excel skills
Who and in what situation
Ece, the holding company’s corporate communications specialist, prepares an executive summary every month. She wants the same logo, font, heading style, color names and approval statements to be used in documents and presentations.
How it is done today
Ece copies from an old presentation, adjusts headings and colors one by one, and compares the result against the brand guidelines during the final review.
How to do it with AI
- Enable Code execution and file creation under Settings > Capabilities. Skills work when this feature is enabled. [147]
- Under Customize > Skills, use + > Create skill > Upload a skill. IT or the brand team should place the relevant sections of the guidelines and any approved templates into the skill structure within the ZIP. [147]
- Write when the skill should run in its description: “Apply the rules in the brand guidelines when a management presentation, Word report or Excel template is requested; ask about any logo or color usage you are unsure of.”
- Ask Claude to use the data to generate a .docx, .xlsx or .pptx file. The built-in Professional Word, PowerPoint and Enhanced Excel skills can be used automatically when appropriate. [147] [72]
- Before downloading the output, have the person responsible for the brand check the headings, logo, spelling and number formats.
Example prompt
Prepare {REPORT_TYPE} using {DATA_SET} and the rules in {CORPORATE_GUIDELINES_SKILL}. Preserve the {TEMPLATE_NAME} layout. If a color or logo rule is not in the knowledge base, do not guess; ask me. List the assumptions used in the final file and the areas that need to be checked.Evidence and real-world example
The official help center explains how Skills provide specialized knowledge and workflows, along with the built-in Office file skills and organization-wide sharing options. The file creation feature can generate .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files; no published customer case study was found for this brand skill. [147] [72]
Points to consider
Custom skill files may contain third-party packages or commands. Anthropic recommends installing skills only from trusted sources and reviewing their contents; there is a risk of prompt injection and data leakage. On Team and Enterprise, the organization administrator should manage skill sharing and scanning settings. [147] [72]
