Scenario 43: Making sense of industry sources in foreign languages

Level: Intermediate · Tools: Claude Research and Claude web search; a paid Pro, Max, Ultra, Team or Enterprise plan

Who and in what situation

Elif, a product researcher at a fictional technology company, turns industry sources published in English and German into a team note in Turkish.

How it is done today

Elif opens the pages individually, reads them using browser translation and manually compares how different sources express the same claim.

How to do it with AI

  1. In Claude on the web or desktop, click the + button at the bottom left of the chat and select Research. Web search must be enabled. [86]
  2. Specify the source languages, country and date range in the prompt; remember to request the original title and the Turkish explanation separately.
  3. Wait for Claude to complete its research, exploring different angles through successive searches. [86]
  4. Compare direct quotations with the original text. Web search responses display source links and citations; open the link and read the context. [92]

Example prompt

Research current sources about {topic} in {language_1} and {language_2}. Limit the research to {date_range}. Prioritize official institutions and primary statements. For each finding, provide the original title, date, link, a short quotation in the original language and its meaning in Turkish. Separate translation from interpretation; do not draw conclusions that are not in the source.

Evidence and real-world example

No published company case study was used; the basis is Claude Research’s multiple-search capability and web search’s responses with source links. [86] [92]

Points to consider

Research is available on paid plans and may use up limits faster because it retrieves multiple sources. [86] Claude recommends cross-checking important information across sources and using authoritative sources for critical decisions. [92] These documents do not include a separate guarantee for Turkish output or any particular foreign language; try a small example in your account.
