Section 3: Creating documents, reports, presentations and visual content

Scenario 29: Initial draft for a brand visual

Level: Beginner · Tools: Microsoft Copilot Image Generation; access through a personal or work account and organizational policy

Who and in what situation

Barış is a content manager at an e-commerce company. He wants a neutral cover image for presentations and internal planning files for a seasonal campaign. He does not want to use an actual customer photo or an image belonging to another brand.

How it is done today

Barış searches stock image sites, checks the license, downloads the image, and crops it to fit the design. If he cannot find a suitable result, he repeats the search.

How to do it with AI

  1. Enter a text-based image prompt in Copilot. The built-in Image Generation can create an image from a text prompt. [66]
  2. Specify details such as the subject, background, framing, visual style, blank space for text, and where the image will be used.
  3. If you are editing a product photo, upload only an image you have the right to use via Open (+) > Add images or files. [66]
  4. Compare the output against the colors, logo, and product appearance in the brand guidelines. Submit it for internal approval by the marketing and legal departments.
  5. Check consent and rights for images containing human faces, customer photos, or competitor marks.

Example prompt

Create an image for {campaign theme} suitable for a presentation cover for {target audience}. It should evoke {product category}, but no specific brand, logo, or real person should appear. Use {brand color approach}, and leave blank space on the right for a title. Do not add any text that needs to be read.

Evidence and real-world example

No company case study was found. Microsoft explains the steps for creating images from text, uploading images, and editing them in Copilot. [66]

Points to consider

Microsoft states that uploaded images should be original and owned by the user or images the user has the right to use; it advises avoiding violations of copyright, trademark rights, publicity rights, privacy, and consent. Google also provides copyright and privacy warnings for Gemini outputs. Review the generated image before publishing it. [66] [65]
