Section 3: Creating documents, reports, presentations and visual content
Scenario 28: Adding a corporate infographic to a slide
Level: Beginner · Tools: Gemini in Google Slides, **Help me visualise**; eligible Google Workspace or Google AI plan
Who and in what situation
Selin prepares internal training presentations at a consulting agency. She wants to explain the long text on a process slide using steps and short labels. The data is in an approved document.
How it is done today
Selin adds shapes, arrows and icons one by one, matches the colors to the theme and aligns the text boxes. She then makes several rounds of visual adjustments.
How to do it with AI
- Select the target slide and open Insert > Help me visualise > Infographic.
- In the right panel, specify the title, purpose, tone, layout and data visualization format. A detailed prompt is recommended. [64]
- Select Create; if suitable, add it using Insert on this slide or Insert as new slide. The feature is in beta and is image-based. [64]
- When you need an editable slide, use the Generate a slide workflow. Manually check the title, numbers and colors in the generated image.
Example prompt
Create a single-slide infographic for {target audience} using the information in {approved process text}. Use {title} as the title. Show {number of steps} steps from left to right. Use no more than {word limit} words in each step. Do not add new data, logos or claims about the organization. Use {color approach} and keep the text readable.Evidence and real-world example
No agency or company case study was found. Google explains how to generate a beta infographic image within Slides using Help me visualise > Infographic, and describes the Generate a slide option for editable slides. [64]
Points to consider
Beta output may contain errors; it must not be published until the text and data in the image have been verified. Google states that these images are for use only within Slides and Vids. For Gemini Apps, there is also a warning not to infringe copyright and privacy rights. [64] [65]
